Hallie and Paolo at Eastern APA

December 11, 2023 Philosophy

The face of a woman, smiling broadly, with verdant trees in the background.

On consent and ability.

January 15-18, the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association meets in Times Square, New York City, for its 120th annual meeting, and features presentations from two members of our department. Hallie Liberto is the focus of an "Author meets critics" session, where Kimberly Kessler Ferzan (Penn) and Mollie Gerver (Kings College London) will discuss Hallie's book 2022 book, Green Light Ethics: A theory of permissive consent and its moral metaphysics. Meanwhile Paolo Santorio discusses his view of "Ability as causal modality" with commentators Melissa Fusco (Columbia) and Jonathan Phillips (Dartmouth).
